Art with a Buddy, Camp-Style!

What to Expect

Experience art-making with your young child.

Providing your young child with a variety of art experiences is good for their physical, mental, and emotional development. The exploration of tactile art materials nurtures natural curiosity and creativity.  Working alongside them in this intimate studio setting creates a bonding experience that will last a lifetime!

The focus will be on the experience of working with and learning from experimentation with materials rather than a particular outcome... and you won't even have to clean up the mess!  End-times are approximate and vary depending on age and development of child.

Summer Camp is an extra special time to attend 'Art with a Buddy' because every day will have a unique theme!  Dress along with the theme if you want, and experience stations tailored to fit each day.  Themes include: Magical Monday, Adventure Tuesday, Outdoor Wednesday, Book Thursday, and Animal Friday.

Campers should be prepared for the possibility of working outside, depending on weather conditions.

Art Educational Philosophy

Our curriculum is structured using an approach called “Teaching for Artistic Behavior” (TAB for short), which stresses the importance of student choice in art education.  We seek to strike a balance between skill-building exercises and authentic art-making experiences. We strive to cover lots of new materials and ways of thinking about art. The exciting thing about TAB classes is that every artwork is different and belongs to the individual student.

Enrollment Information

Enrollment in a Summer Camp session is non-refundable.  Payment finalizes registration and can be made online during registration form submission, or via cash or check.  Full payment must be received no later than two weeks before camp session.
