Your donations can offset the costs of cash prizes, sponsor competition entries, and/or go directly to the Laudenslager family!

What is a character design?  It can be many things!  Some examples include superheroes, ghosts, monsters, aliens, cryptids, and even regular old humans.  Most importantly, your design should include details that tell the viewer about who the character is, and your character design should be unique to you!

Entries will be judged by Sean's son and Anthracite Creative Works student, Aiden Laudenslager.  Judging will include the following categories:

• • • Originality: your design doesn't exist somewhere else in the world

    • Technique: how you used materials

    • Strong Craftsmanship: your design is clean and crisp, with evident care

You can work on your character design at home or at Anthracite Creative Works using our studio supplies.  The studio will be open at the following times for creation and/or drop-off of finished entries:

• • • Sunday, November 12th from 4-6pm for the Fall Art Show

    • Thursdays, November 30th and December 7th from 5-7pm for our Holiday Studio Shop

    • Tuesday, December 12th from 5-7pm for our  monthly Open Studio event

All artwork will be returned to the artist unless otherwise arranged.  Artwork can be picked up at 7pm on December 12th or by appointment.
